What You'll Need:

  • Sharp kitchen scissors or a heavy-duty cutter
  • A standard lighter
  • Your LionVII belt

Step 1: Determine the Ideal Length

Wrap the belt around your waist through your trouser loops. Mark the spot where you want the belt to end. We recommend allowing about 4-6 inches of tail past the buckle for a clean look.

Step 2: Unclip the Buckle

Our YKK cam-action buckles are designed for easy removal. Flip the locking lever on the back of the buckle to release the nylon strap. Pull the strap out completely.

Step 3: Make the Cut

Using your scissors, make a straight, clean cut at the mark you made. Ensure the cut is even to prevent uneven fraying in the next step.

Step 4: Seal the Edge (Crucial for Durability)

LionVII belts are made from high-density 800D nylon. To prevent fraying, hold the flame of your lighter near the freshly cut edge for 2-3 seconds. You'll see the nylon fibers melt slightly and form a hard, sealed bead. Do not touch the melted nylon until it cools!

Step 5: Re-attach and Secure

Insert the sealed end back into the buckle's slot. Press the locking lever down firmly. You now have a belt perfectly tailored to your body.
